A Morning Ritual - How to start your day invigorated

Are you a morning person? From the Obamas to Ariana Huffington, successful leaders all seem to rise early. Forget the whos of the whos, even my grandma definitely recommends waking up with the sun. There are so many proven benefits to it - our circadian rhythm is regulated by daylight, which is why going to bed early and waking up early helps to have better sleep. It also helps regulate metabolism, and sets the tone for the day.

I once heard someone describe the morning as the seed that blossoms into what becomes your day. I think for many of us this is true. Imagine missing the train or starting the day arguing with your family or the stress of not having your clothes ironed. These feelings linger throughout the day. But on the flip side if you start your day right, the positive energy lingers too.

So here is a simple morning ritual to get you started.

Wake up before the house is awake (if possible) – make a warm drink, light some incense or a candle. In your journal write down three things that you are grateful for today. Meditate for at least 15 minutes. Alternatively do some invigorating yoga poses, here are some ideas to get your started.

Immerse your Wildpatch jar in warm water for a few minutes to heat the oil. Take a generous portion massage on to your skin and hair. Leave it on for 10 mins while you go about starting your day and wash it off.

On days you feel extra stressed, massage your head and shoulders with some warm Wildpatch oil.
